[Faith's head was still spinning from her discussion with Wanda as she made her way back toward her rooms. When she'd accepted a job as a warden, she hadn't even thought about...

...Getting the cops off her back; doing some good; getting out of her dinky little apartment? It had seemed like enough. If she'd known about B, she might have asked for a little more  - but she had never even thought that...

She hadn't thought people could be brought back; that was supposed to be impossible. Basic rule of existence, right? 'Cept Wanda said otherwise; and she didn't think the girl was lying.]

The flood's hit is a bit of a shock, stopping her mid sentence as she gets her first taste of emotions; she glances up and down the hall, suddenly on guard.]

((OOC: Been planning this a while, but got swamped. DX My monday's going to be hellish, too, but tuesday should see me mostly back. :) ))

Admiral. Assuming warden already.

[...Which he's a little doubtful of, because why would she be asking if she was already a warden? She should have made her deal already.]

Don't know.

[He's only an inmate, after all; he hasn't really bothered to look that far into the other side.]

[The shrug's as much verbal as physical; a halfhearted grunt that manages to be simultaneously apathetic and dismissive.]

Always this way. Not much for small talk.

[He never quite got the hang of it, not that his old partner didn't try.

There's a thoughtful pause, then:]

Who died?

[See? He's trying.]
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: introspective)

[A long pause, almost as if he's weighing every word, trying to find exactly the right ones before he speaks.]

Hope he grants it.
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: well that's ridiculous)

Hurm. No need to thank. Just sharing information.

[Uncomfortable; appreciation isn't something he's particularly adept at receiving. Not since the Roche case, anyway.]

Name's Rorschach.
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: this face; it's judging you)

Few months.

...It's an adjustment.

[All these PEOPLE, for one thing. New York was crowded, but somehow it had seemed less so. Here it was like sardines packed in a tin, you couldn't go far without finding yourself forced into a conversation with someone for one reason or another.

He almost wished for his streets again, for the predictability and dependability of the world and the people occupying it, but then they weren't his anymore. Never would be.]
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: hot mess)

Not bad now. In comparison.

[No, he just feels compelled to hide in his room to keep himself to himself. Nothing wrong with this one, really.

Although. It could always be worse.]
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: puzzled)

[Blink. Blink. Not that she can see it.]

...Have an acquaintance named Bea?
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: waiting)

...Ah.

[Not really judgmental. Just...puzzled.]
wemaketheworld: ([masked]: resigned)

[A grunt of agreement.]

Before I got here, yes.

[Sorry, Faith, he's really not much of a conversationalist.]
