[Faith's head was still spinning from her discussion with Wanda as she made her way back toward her rooms. When she'd accepted a job as a warden, she hadn't even thought about...

She hadn't thought people could be brought back; that was supposed to be impossible. Basic rule of existence, right? 'Cept Wanda said otherwise; and she didn't think the girl was lying.]

The flood's hit is a bit of a shock, stopping her mid sentence as she gets her first taste of emotions; she glances up and down the hall, suddenly on guard.]

[Her deal was... getting the cops off her back, probably, looking back. She hadn't really been thinking big-picture at the time between being forced to kill vampire children and running from the law. She really hadn't asked for as many details as she should have, too scared of talking herself out of it.

She's silent a long moment.] Anyone ever make a second deal before?

[He's only an inmate, after all; he hasn't really bothered to look that far into the other side.]

Guess I might have to be the first, then. [This is important to her; she doesn't care what she has to give up. Finding out you can bring back the (second) guy you killed sorta does that to a girl.

But being Faith, she doesn't exactly like showing it - she drops back to her more casual tone quickly once she realizes she's gotten all the information she's going to.]

[The shrug's as much verbal as physical; a halfhearted grunt that manages to be simultaneously apathetic and dismissive.]

someone who shouldn't have... [Unfortunately, it's the one subject she doesn't want to talk about. The first guy she killed is open game, for Faith - he was scum anyhow; she might regret the fact that she killed, but she doesn't regret that he's dead; the time she served was enough, and more than he honestly deserved.

But Lester... that had been her fault; and it was a more private pain, since everyone had always made it their job to forget it. Only ones who had ever cared was Faith. And...]

He had a daughter. Figure she might want her dad back. [Considering she still dropped flowers in the crater where his grave should be.]

[A long pause, almost as if he's weighing every word, trying to find exactly the right ones before he speaks.]

Hope he grants it.

Yeah... me too... [There's a heavy pain there; and guilt. Things she isn't really willing to explore too deeply with others just yet.

[Uncomfortable; appreciation isn't something he's particularly adept at receiving. Not since the Roche case, anyway.]

She was not used to living in the same hallway as Buffy, running into every person she fought with two minutes after stalking away. Rate she was going, she was having a hard time running away from anything.]
