[Faith's been bruised, beaten, dusty, and worst of all captured - she feels powerless, all her extra strength - even that little bit of extra oomph she had as a mere potential - drained from her in one fell swoop.

She doesn't know what happened to Barbara; last Faith saw her, it was when she was drawing the soldiers awa from her charge - getting caught in her place.

Still... Having managed that much - giving Barbara a shot - puts a little extra confidence in her voice.]

[Click. His hand is free. Another few moments, his other hand. He picks up the chain between them and grins.]

These will do.

"Looks like." She smiled a little.

[Getting the ones at his ankles he moved to her to start picking off her cuffs.]

Lemme see. Won't take but a second here.

[She holds them out.] Sure things.

[It didn't take that long to get her free, picking at each lock before they fell free from her wrists. Clearly he was quite skilled.]

I'll get to work with the others.

Gonna think you've had practice. [She smirks, faintly, watching after.]

Heh. Kind of good at these daring escapes as a matter of fact!

Only twice that wasn't a set up by my 'friends' to keep me out of the way.

Pretty good track record, if you ask me. Besides, one of those times was voluntary surrender. Doesn't count.

More worried about why your 'friends' were getting you out of the way.

It was the only way Heero could make it off the colony and rendezvous with his gundam. Besides, they had confidence I could escape on my own.

Our other friend was in deep cover with the enemy. I didn't want to take a fall, but it ended up workin' out pretty damn well. I don't blame either of them for it.

[He heads on over to the door, reaching around to see if he can't pick that lock as well.]

[It opens for him well enough - but the real trouble lies ahead.]

[With the lizard men? Yeah. He knew. He gestured for Faith to follow.]

[She moved forward, scouting out for trouble.]

[He let her go ahead, seeing a group of guards pass the hall 300 yards down. They go unnoticed, so far.]

[Better to walk slowly, though; don't rush. Don't get caught.]

[He wasn't rushing, and his steps were near silent, yet swift. If he had a gun he'd be carrying it like a stealth ops commando. Instead, he held the chain loosely, making sure not to rattle them.]

[Faith didn't have so much of a weapon - but she moved quietly, ready to lash out - even much weakened, her body was still well toned; but she'd never been so powerless before.]
